Gophers football: Three high school pledges to visit other schools this weekend

Three high school players who have verbally committed to the Gophers’ 2024 recruiting class are planning to visit other schools this weekend.Four-star Esko, Minn., safety Koi Perich intends to visit Ohio State this weekend, followed by Florida State next weekend.Three-star Prior Lake defensive lineman Jide Abasiri is set to go to Los Angeles to visit USC.And three-star Gaylord, Mich., linebacker Brady Pretzlaff will go down the road to visit Michigan State.Minnesota’s recruiting class for next year is ranked within the top 30 in the nation, but their standing could drop if any of those three players exit the group.Gophers coaches have been making rounds to see their 21 total high school pledges since the NCAA’s contact period opened Friday. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Colleges in the Albany area are seeing an influx of calls from students at The College of Saint Rose who are determining where to continue their college education. That influx led to informational sessions and increased admissions counseling at Russell Sage and UAlbany. ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has received an update on the disappearance of Matthew Grant, an RIT student who went missing in November. On Monday, deputies said that they received surveillance footage from the evening of November 20, when Grant went missing. The footage came from a gas station near exit 40 on Interstate 90 outside of Syracuse.Deputies said that Grant was alone and wasn't in danger. They also added that he appeared to be wearing the same clothing he was last seen in. The vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Cherokee with the Michigan license plate ESR8141, was last tracked to Exit 36 by I-81. It’s more important for Colorado schools to prepare students for the workforce than to prepare them to attend college.That’s the opinion of more than 60% of respondents in a recent poll of education attitudes among Colorado voters. For the second time in two days, a student reportedly brought a gun onto the campus of Redondo Union High School.The school went on lockdown Tuesday morning when authorities received a report of a weapon on campus sometime before 9:30 a.m., based on a message apparently sent to parents by school officials. At about 10:45 a.m., the Redondo Beach Police Department announced on social media that a lockdown at the school had been lifted and the campus was "secured.""A person has been detained and no other people are outstanding," police said.No injuries were reported. 50-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after High-Speed Accident near 211th Street Court EastSPANAWAY, WA (December 5, 2023) – Christopher Hall died Sunday afternoon in a stolen-car crash on State Route 7 near 211th Street Court East. Dispatchers arrived to the area just before 3:00 p.m., on November 26th.Authorities report that a 14-year-old boy operated a stolen 2021 Kia Sportage in the second lane at excessive speeds. 50-year-old Hall then attempted a U-turn across the lanes, resulting in a collision with the Kia. Emergency personnel transported the female passenger to St. Joseph Medical Center, and the boy was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, both sustaining serious injuries. Hall was later declared deceased by medics due to the severity of his condition. For a short duration, emergency crews closed off the surrounding area to facilitate cleanup and preliminary duties.
