University of Maryland police looking for suspect in exposure incidents

University police are looking for a man they said exposed himself to two women at the University of Maryland.The first incident happened Sunday around 7:30 p.m. A woman who was a student told police that she was walking in the area of the 3400 block of Tulane Drive when a man approached her and “touched her inappropriately.” As the woman continued to walk, she said the man grabbed her, and when she turned around, she saw that the man had exposed himself.On Monday, university police got a report of another exposure. This time, a woman said that she witnessed a man who exposed himself inside of a hallway. When the man was seen, he fled the area.The suspect is a man who appears to be in his 30s. He is between 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a skinny build. MADRID (AP) — Peru players and Spanish police officers got into an altercation in front of the team’s hotel in Madrid on Monday.Peru is playing Morocco in a friendly at Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday.Images on social media show Peru players outside watching singing fans when one of the players is pushed back by an officer. DALLAS (AP) — A prominent civil rights attorney was among a group of people arrested in a Dallas suburb during a demonstration in memory of a Black man who died in a struggle with guards at an area jail.McKinney police arrested lawyer Lee Merritt and two others on charges of obstructing a roadway during the Sunday protest over Marvin Scott III’s 2021 death in the Collin County jail. Merritt, 40, was also charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, police said.Merritt, who’s forged a national profile representing the families of people killed by law enforcement officers, told The Associated Press that he was “unlawfully arrested” while he attended the protests as the Scott family’s lawyer. ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers released veteran catcher Sandy León from his minor league contract after breaking camp from Arizona. Texas announced the move Monday before an exhibition game at home in Texas against Kansas City, the team they share a spring training complex with in Surprise, Arizona. León signed with the Rangers just before the start of spring training. The 34-year-old catcher played 533 games with five teams over the last 11 seasons. Mitch Garver is back after missing the second half of last season with the Rangers because of surgery on his right (throwing) arm last July. Jonah Heim caught 111 games last season and Texas also has catching prospect Sam Huff.The Rangers were the fourth different franchise León has been with since last year. Excel Academy Charter High School in Boston is mourning the loss of a tenth grade student after the student died in a skiing accident over the weekend. The incident happened on Pats Peak in New Hampshire on Saturday night. On Monday, school community members grieved and remembered 15-year-old Christopher DiPrima as someone who was kind and smart, who loved movies, loved chess and who recently developed a passion for skiing. DiPrima’s cousin Steven Gingras said DiPrima hit a bump while skiing with his parents and his sister. Gingras said DiPrima landed wrong and complained he was having chest pains before he died a short time later at a hospital. “It’s definitely surreal,” Gingras said. “It’s something that we can’t really imagine happening.”“There was no warning,” Gingras said.
