A top D.C. official is on administrative leave after he was arrested on a charge of domestic assault this week.Chris Rodriguez, assistant city administrator and acting chief technology officer under Mayor Muriel Bowser, was arrested Wednesday and charged with simple assault domestic violence, according to a police report.The U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. has declined to press charges in the case, a spokeswoman told WTOP.The arrest report states that police responded to Rodriguez’s Sedgwick Street apartment in Northwest at 11:30 p.m. after Rodriguez allegedly pushed his wife to the ground “with both hands.”The responding officer wrote in the report that Rodriguez’s daughter “overheard a verbal argument” between Rodriguez and his wife “but did not see any physical altercation between.”The report also states that Rodriguez’s wife “did not have any visible injuries.”Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Second D...Javier “Chicharito” Hernández won’t be back with LA Galaxy next season

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Javier “Chicharito” Hernández won’t return to the Los Angeles Galaxy next year.The forward’s contract has ended, and the MLS team said Friday it was letting him go. As a result, the Galaxy have opened up a designated roster spot for 2024.Hernández had 39 goals and six assists while starting 71 of 82 career games from 2020 to 2023 for the Galaxy. He ranks seventh in club history with 38 goals in 74 career regular-season appearances.Hernández last played for the Galaxy in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal against Real Salt Lake on June 7. DENVER (KDVR) -- A Boulder employee is facing criminal charges after he allegedly stole tools and attempted to pawn them off, according to a news release from the city.Steven Toney was a groundskeeper at the Flatirons Golf Course, which is owned by the city. SAN DIEGO -- With only two months left in the year, the number of fatal DUI collisions is on track to remain around the all-time high in San Diego County, according to District Attorney Summer Stephan's office.So far in 2023, 25 people have been killed in crashes where one of the drivers was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
