(NEWS10) -- Schenectady Rotary Club is partnering with the Adirondack Cornhole League to present their second annual Cornhole for a Cause tournament. Man dead, six others hurt after St. Francois County highway crash ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. - One man died, and six others are hurt after a highway crash Thursday afternoon in St. Francois County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Wyatt Vangundy, 26, of French Village, Missouri, died in the crash. Next of kin has been notified. The crash happened just after the noon hour Thursday on Route Y, just west of Critter Lane Road. What is causing the mysterious St. Louis County hum? Investigators say Vangundy was driving alone and heading eastbound on Route Y. Another car with six people was traveling westbound on the highway. MSHP says Vangundy failed to negotiate a left turn, went into the westbound lane and struck the car head-on. Both cars travelled off the roadway after the collision. Anaheim pet care business employee abused dogs, police say A Fountain Valley woman is facing a felony charge of animal abuse for her alleged actions while employed at a dog care and boarding business in Anaheim.The owners of the business located in the 4500 block of East Eisenhower Circle reported the abuse allegations to Orange County Animal Care, which then contacted the Anaheim Police Department to arrest 24-year-old Michelle Navarrete, police said in a news release. Navarrete, who had worked at the business for about three years, "had committed several acts of animal abuse against dogs under the business' care," police said.She was arrested Thursday afternoon and released from the Anaheim Police Department Detention Facility after posting $20,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing, and "detectives are working to determine how many dogs have been affected or injured," the release said. Hemet man remains at large after stabbing girlfriend, teen boy, police say The Hemet Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend and her teenage son Thursday evening.At about 9:30 p.m., police received a call that a mother had been stabbed by her boyfriend near the 1400 block of East Menlo Avenue, officials said in a press release. When officers arrived, they found it was not just the mother but a 15-year-old boy who had each been stabbed multiple times."Both victims were taken to a local hospital; as of this morning, both victims were in stable condition," police said.The suspected assailant, 36-year-old Hemet resident Miguel Pimentel, fled the scene on foot, though he remains on the loose after a search of the mobile home park where he was believed to be, police said.
