23-Year-Old Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Hellebore StreetMENIFEE, CA (June 27, 2023) – Thursday evening, Mason Young was fatally struck in a motorcycle accident on Whitewood Road.Police responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., near Hellebore Street on May 18th.Per reports, the 17-year-old female driver of a sedan struck a motorcyclist as they attempted to turn left onto northbound Whitewood Road. The southbound rider then failed to avoid the sedan and struck the side of the vehicle.Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 23-year-old Young dead at the scene.At this time, failure to yield right-of-way is the main factor of the collision. OAKLAND — Police on Tuesday released images of the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and run collision June 16 in East Oakland that left a 58-year-old woman dead.Police identified the woman Tuesday as Santu Maya, of Oakland.The fatal collision happened about 7:05 p.m. June 16 at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Vicksburg Avenue.Maya, who lived in the area, was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a black Mercedes that was going westbound on Foothill and failed to stop for a red light, police said. Police said they believe the Mercedes was involved in a street race and the driver was speeding when the car hit her. (KRON) -- Cal/OSHA cited two employers in Half Moon Bay this week following an investigation into workplace violence that killed seven agricultural workers on January 23. The shocking mass shooting was allegedly carried out by Chunli Zhao, an angry 66-year-old farmworker who had worked for California Terra Garden and Concord Farms. San Mateo County prosecutors said Zhao was "angry at several co-workers over perceived mistreatment."Zhao lived in a tiny shack at California Terra Gardens. (KRON) -- The Oakland Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying or locating a person and a black Mercedes Benz in connection to a fatal hit-and-run earlier this month. OPD officers were dispatched to an injury crash just after 7 p.m. on June 16. A pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle at Foothill Boulevard and Vicksburg Avenue. $10,000 reward offered for solving Oakland flower delivery homicide At the scene, officers discovered the victim, 58-year-old Santu Maya of Oakland, suffering from a severe head injury in relation to the crash.
