HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- People gathered in Hudson Falls on Tuesday to protest the Saratoga Biochar Project in the town of Moreau. FENTON, Mo. - Fenton residents filled city hall to hear what the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be doing to help solve the city's flooding issues.Matt Jones with the Corps of Engineers St. Louis District said there are two options: structural and non-structural. Structural solutions would include building levees, while non-structural solutions would require home buyouts, flood-proofing homes, or home elevations.Jones said that the Corps of Engineers has been leaning toward more non-structural solutions recently. WASHINGTON, Mo. - A special prayer was held at a church in Washington, Missouri, on Tuesday to honor the victims of the Nashville school shooting.A 9-year-old girl, Evelyn Dieckhaus, is one of the three students killed in the shooting, and the mass held at St. Francis Borgia was to show support for her family. A parrot that was stolen off a front porch in Santa Ana has been reunited with its owners more than two weeks after it was taken. Luna, the 10-year-old African Gray Parrot and beloved family pet of the Gerardo family, was stolen off their front porch while still in her cage on March 12. Doorbell camera footage caught one thief walking up to the porch and snatching the cage with the bird still in it, while another thief acted as the getaway driver. Police are investigating a fatal crash that left a teenager dead and two others hospitalized in Corona on Tuesday.The three victims were all 16 to 17 years old, according to the Corona Police Department.Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of El Sobrante Road and Circle City Drive around 8:34 a.m.Upon arriving at the scene, three teenagers were found inside an overturned vehicle.One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver and another passenger were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries where they remain in stable condition, authorities said.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.“At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor,” said police. After a slew of damaging storms to start the year, the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board extended the 2022 tax filing deadline to October 16 for most California counties, including Los Angeles.The original deadline would have fallen on April 18 for individual filers, and March 15 for some businesses, but 41 of California’s 58 counties can now take advantage of an extra six months after being declared disaster areas by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).“The IRS automatically provides filing and penalty relief to any taxpayer with an IRS address of record located in the disaster area,” The IRS wrote in a press release. “Therefore, taxpayers do not need to contact the agency to get this relief.”Most Southern Californians filing individually, or for business, qualify for the extension, short of those filing in Kern and Imperial County. SANTA CLARA COUNTY – Temporary closures of Highway 101 and State Route 17 are slated to begin Thursday, according to the California Department of Transportation.Highway 101 will be closed at De La Cruz Boulevard/Trimble Road to remove an old freeway overcrossing, Caltrans said in an advisory. From 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., southbound lanes will be closed Thursday-Friday and northbound lanes will be closed April 3-6.
