Wishfest returning to Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Amsterdam will be hosting the return of their annual Wishfest. The event will be held on Bridge Street and is scheduled for October 7. The yearly festival was founded with a mission of making a difference in the community, and has grown into a major fundraiser for Capital Region Giving Tree. The event will feature live music by Ally the Piper, The Margo Macero Band, Kolbie G., Ryan Carmello, Tim Barr, and Still Remains. In addition to the performances, Wishfest will offer food, drinks and crafts from over 50 local vendors, as well as family friendly activities, a fireworks show in the evening, and a special appearance by former Major League Baseball star Dwight "Doc" Gooden. ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) - Arena football is officially coming back to Albany in the spring of 2024, with a familiar team name in a familiar league. Co-owner Mike Kwarta announced they’re bringing back the Albany Firebirds to play in the newly reformed Arena Football League.Former Albany Empire offensive coordinator and interim head coach, Damon Ware will be the head coach and general manager of the franchise. Jeff Levack will serve as team president.Ware announced the team’s first signing is former Empire wide receiver, and 2021 National Arena League MVP, Darius Prince. Albany’s last arena football team, the Albany Empire, was terminated from the National Arena League, citing the Empire’s failure to pay overdue league-mandated assessments. The termination came months after former NFL pro-bowler Antonio Brown became part of the previous ownership group. Accepted items include clothing and textiles, scrap metal, eyeglasses, hearing aids, cell phones with chargers, camping gear, refrigerants, small appliances, and electronics. Stillwater man Scott Salvadore is back to reclaim his title as mullet champion in 2023 and has big plans if he were to win the honor again. HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The village of Hudson Falls is set to undergo milling and paving in the next two weeks. Cars will need to be cleared out of the right of way when work is underway. Burrell is an inspiring figure in Colorado music history. Burrell was the first African-American musician to join a major symphony orchestra in the United States circa 1949 (the Denver Symphony Orchestra, now known as the Colorado Symphony) and performed with them until the end of the 20th century. Kaiser Permanente Colorado and the union representing almost half of its employees didn’t reach a deal over the weekend, but have agreed to continue talking ahead of a possible strike beginning Wednesday.The contract between a coalition of unions and Kaiser Permanente divisions around the country expired Saturday. Earlier in September, the unions announced they could go on strike from Oct. 4 to 6 if they don’t reach a new contract.In Colorado, that would mean about 3,000 technicians, office workers and licensed practical nurses affiliated with Service Employees International Union Local 105 could walk off the job for three days this week. At least one person died in a head-on crash on the 91 Freeway in Corona early Monday morning.A wrong-way driver was reported headed east in westbound lanes at 12:10 a.m., and two minutes later, they crashed head-on into another car near the on-ramp for North Lincoln Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.Footage from the scene showed that the car and another vehicle sustained burn damage, but the fires were extinguished by the time cameras arrived.At least one person died as a result of the crash, though it is unknown if they were the wrong-way driver, a passenger or in another vehicle.All westbound lanes were closed for several hours, but they were reopened by 3:40 a.m.Nancy Fontan contributed to this report.Ford Mustang Mach-E drives like a "gas EV"

The Ford Mustang Mach-E brings a lot of history to the table with its iconic Mustang name, but none of it involves electricity. Still, this EV honors its past while embracing the future with killer looks, futuristic features, and a drive style you might mistake for a gas-guzzling SUV.Even though the Mach-E first went on sale in 2020, I hadn't had the chance to drive one until now.
