Miami-Dade Police officers are investigating a neighborhood in Northwest Miami-Dade after a man was shot on Wednesday morning. Reports of shots fired were called in around 6 a.m. and now police officers are investigating a house on Northwest 44th Street near Northwest 22nd Avenue.Just after 6 a.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported a man to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.Authorities blocked off the street while they searched a car that was parked near the home they investigated. Evidence markers were seen next to the vehicle, which normally indicates some kind of shooting.Neighbors expressed concern and said the car belongs to an older man who lives in the house under investigation. They do not know if he is connected to this incident. (WSVN) – A boy battling terminal brain and spine cancer for half of his life accomplished another milestone Monday, when he was sworn in by Aurora Police Department.Officer Devarjaye Daniel, 11, repeated the oath word for word as he held his right hand up. His ultimate goal is to be sworn in by 758 agencies across the country and according to his family, he is close to reaching that goal.His father, Theodis Daniel, was present as his son promised to protect and serve others. The two have been on the road raising awareness about children battling cancer while meeting with law enforcement agencies.Daniel said the reason he choose the number 758 is in honor of his friend Abigail Arias, who lost her cancer battle in 2019.
