WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. on Thursday shot down a Turkish drone that had come in too close to U.S. troops on the ground in Hasakah, Syria, a U.S. official told The Associated Press. The official said the drone had been flying in an “unsafe” and “unsychronized” manner. Typically, the U.S. and Turkish militaries, which are NATO allies, work in close coordination in conducting air maneuvers. Thirty-nine people are facing more than 150 charges after a months-long drug probe resulted in the seizure of more than $7 million worth of drugs across the GTA.Police in York Region say they opened an investigation in April 2023 after receiving reports about a woman trafficking drugs in Newmarket. ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. — A 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed in Round Lake Wednesday night, police said has been identified.Lake County Coroner's office identified the victim as Chad Greenwald from Fox Lake. According to police, officers were searching for a phone that dialed 911said around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday night and located a car at a gas station near the area of Cedar Lake and Rollins Road that appeared to be damaged by gunfire.Greenwald was found with gunshot wounds to the chest and he transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead. HOMER GLEN, Ill. — An 18-year-old died late Wednesday night and a woman is in critical condition following a head-on crash in Homer Glen.Officers responded to a report of a three-vehicle crash just after 11:40 p.m. in the 17000 block of South Cedar Road.
