Mourning together, the family of a 31-year-old Whitman woman said they were in shock Thursday after learning their loved one is no longer with them. State police and the Suffolk District Attorney’s office said police found the body of Margaret Mbitu in a parking garage at Logan Airport around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a little over a day after family members said they reported Mbitu missing. Fourty-year-old Kevin Kangethe of Lowell is now wanted in connection with Mbitu’s death, which officials said is being considered a homicide. “She was the most lovely, soft-spoken, beautiful, happy, go lucky kind of girl — the most friendly person we know,” said Mbitu’s cousin, Virginia Ndunga. “Obviously, we’re devastated,” Ndunga said. “We love her.”Mbitu was a nurse in Halifax. On Thursday, one of her friends and colleagues described her as “compassionate” and said she was “a team player.” “She loved what she did,” said Grace Boronje.Family members said Mbitu’s employer called ...Cold again tonight, more seasonable tomorrow

It was all about the freeze and frost this morning! I saw a lot of people walking around Boston today with their puffer coats, hats and mittens. It might take awhile for us to get adjusted to the cold, since we haven’t felt temperatures like our morning lows since April. Tonight, it’ll be cold, before temperatures turn more seasonable tomorrow afternoon. Our highs today were stuck in the 40s. That’s below average for this time of year. We’ll have some mid and high level clouds move in overnight. That along with a switch in the wind out of the southwest should keep temperatures in the 30s. Not quite as cold as last night, but you might still have the heater on!High pressure that was off to our southwest today, moves east by tomorrow and this will keep the southwest wind into the afternoon. It’ll be breezy with gusts 20-25 mph possible. This weekend we stay dry. Any showers will be light and across far Northern New England. We’ll have sun and clouds...Howie Carr: ‘Anyway’ Biden’s new dodge

Dementia Joe Biden has a new favorite word.“Anyway.”He uses it whenever all else fails, which in his administration is just about everything.Mostly Biden falls back on “anyway” whenever he loses his train of thought, or forgets what he was about to say, or realizes that he’s telling another big fat lie.Earlier this week, Biden was talking about, well, your guess is as good as mine. But here’s how it went. As always, all dialogue is guaranteed verbatim:“And you know, when you’ve bounced a few checks, like I did, you know when I was trying to get started it uh, anyway….”It’s sad enough when he tries to read from the teleprompter. (We’ll get to that later.) But when Dementia Joe tries to adlib, watch out. Like last week at some awards ceremony for scientists.“What was it like growing up and someone said, ‘Time for dinner!’ and you said what. Anyway.”Usually when Brandon veers off-script, he just runs out of steam. He stares blankly ahead, sometimes his jaw drops. And that’s when he say...Massachusetts police report needles were found in Halloween candy: ‘All trick or treat candy should be inspected’

While the Celtics’ win in Washington on Monday was dominant and never in doubt, it was not exactly complete. The Celtics led by 33 entering the fourth quarter when Joe Mazzulla pulled his starters. But the bench submitted an ugly effort against the Wizards’ backups. They were outscored, 32-18, and committed eight turnovers. Their lead dwindled to as little as 15 with 1:33 to go, and while their victory was not threatened, the performance was still alarming. So much so that on Tuesday, when they returned to Boston, Mazzulla called for a backups-only film session to go over what went wrong. The message was clearly received. On Wednesday, faced with the same situation after the Celtics’ starters built a 38-point lead over the Pacers entering the fourth, the bench had an encouraging bounce-back effort. They erupted for 46 points – which marked the highest scoring final period in TD Garden history – as they pushed the lead to as big as 53. They didn’t commit a single turnover in a dominant ...New Patriots cornerback arrives with Willie McGinest, Jack Jones ties

SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities in the Seattle area are searching for a 17-year-old boy who they say shot and killed a passenger on a city bus last month in what newly filed charging documents describe as “the senseless execution of a total stranger” — a recent example of shocking but rare attacks on public transit around the country.Miguel Rivera Dominguez was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. He is wanted in the death of Marcel Da’jon Wagner, 21, who appeared to be sleeping when he was shot on board a bus in White Center, an unincorporated neighborhood just south of Seattle, on Oct. 3, the King County prosecutor’s office said.Court documents did not list an attorney for Rivera Dominguez who might speak on his behalf, and a voice mail left Wednesday for a couple identified in charging documents as his guardians was not immediately returned.
