To address youth violence, eight Denver schools would get an additional staffer focused on student behavior next school year, under a proposed city council ordinance.The proposed pilot program also would add a mobile team going from school to school, addressing mental health needs, supporting behavioral health and providing referrals.Denver has seen high rates of youth violence over the last five years.A plan published in 2020 noted measures that the community could take to reduce violence. A Fountain Valley woman is facing a felony charge of animal abuse for her alleged actions while employed at a dog care and boarding business in Anaheim.The owners of the business located in the 4500 block of East Eisenhower Circle reported the abuse allegations to Orange County Animal Care, which then contacted the Anaheim Police Department to arrest 24-year-old Michelle Navarrete, police said in a news release. Navarrete, who had worked at the business for about three years, "had committed several acts of animal abuse against dogs under the business' care," police said.She was arrested Thursday afternoon and released from the Anaheim Police Department Detention Facility after posting $20,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing, and "detectives are working to determine how many dogs have been affected or injured," the release said. The Hemet Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend and her teenage son Thursday evening.At about 9:30 p.m., police received a call that a mother had been stabbed by her boyfriend near the 1400 block of East Menlo Avenue, officials said in a press release. When officers arrived, they found it was not just the mother but a 15-year-old boy who had each been stabbed multiple times."Both victims were taken to a local hospital; as of this morning, both victims were in stable condition," police said.The suspected assailant, 36-year-old Hemet resident Miguel Pimentel, fled the scene on foot, though he remains on the loose after a search of the mobile home park where he was believed to be, police said. Three Dead, Two Hospitalized after Red-Light Collision near Interstate 17PHOENIX, AZ (July 7, 2023) – Monday night, Esteban Espinoza-Lopez, Majid Al Juhaishi, and Tessa Jeffrey died in a red-light crash.Police arrived to the scene on Thunderbird Road, near Interstate 17 around 11:00 p.m., on July 3rd.Officers say the driver of a white Chevrolet Camaro was heading west on Thunderbird and ran a red light, consequently colliding with a red Chevrolet Traverse. RICHMOND — A green energy company is planning a major expansion at a historic site on the Richmond waterfront following new real estate deals, adding to its already large presence in the East Bay city.Moxion Power had already leased a large chunk of space in October 2022 at the Ford Point historic mixed-use complex.
