THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — One man was killed and two people injured, one seriously, in a stabbing on Friday at a church-run center that houses several aid organizations in the Dutch university city of Leiden, police said. A man entered the center, a former bakery in the historic heart of the university city, just before 9:30 a.m. and “for as yet unclear reasons stabbed the victims and then fled,” police said in a statement.A 66-year-old man “was so badly injured that he died at the scene, two others were taken to a hospital,” police said.The chairman of the center, Bert Verweij, told regional broadcaster Omroep West that the three wounded people were a staff member, a volunteer and a worker at one of the organizations that uses the center.The center houses organizations that offer help to people including homeless people, migrants and asylum-seekers.Police appealed for assistance in tracking down the suspect, but warned members of the public not to approach him. LAKE LANIER, Georgia (WANF) — A beaver that was killed after biting a young girl at Lake Lanier tested positive for rabies, Hall County officials told Atlanta News First.The beaver reportedly bit the girl Saturday, at which point it was killed by the girl’s father. Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was contacted about the incident and the investigation was turned over to the Hall County Animal Control.Georgia DNR said there was no evidence of baby beavers in the area.Two people also recently came into contact with a rabid beaver in the Sardis area of Gainesville, according to the Facebook post. BRUSSELS — Barend Leyts, spokesperson for European Council President Charles Michel, is leaving his job, according to an EU official.Leyts is departing to become director of communication for Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo as soon as his replacement is found, said the same official, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the topic.Leyts started working for Michel in October 2014, becoming the politician’s Dutch-language spokesperson just as he became Belgian prime minister.
