From homemade chocolate to old-fashioned candies, you don’t need a sweet tooth to enjoy a trip to Bittersweet Candy.It all started in 2005, when Heather Lent used to make homemade chocolate bark as a present for friends and family during the holidays. She started selling it online before opening her first storefront in Poughkeepsie. She eventually moved the business to Schenectady, to be closer to her family. He started his career with the 131st Fighter Wing at Lambert Airport in March 1987 as an avionics technician, and has risen in the ranks to his current position as Commander of the 131st Mission Support Group at Jefferson Barracks. His 37-years of service included a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and moving his family to various Air National Guard locations. ST. LOUIS - One man was shot and killed overnight in north St. Louis.The shooting was just before 11:00 p.m. on West Florissant Avenue at Park Lane, in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. A woman was killed and the condition of a small child remained uncertain early Tuesday after a car crash in Aurora.One vehicle was involved in the crash near the intersection of South Quentin Way and East Iliff Avenue, Aurora police said in a posting on Twitter.The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died, police said. A large release of water from Lake Powell began Monday morning, sending water on a two-day journey through the Grand Canyon - where it will help restore sandbars and beaches while moving sediment downriver - to Nevada's Lake Mead.Monday's water release from the Glen Canyon Dam is known as a High Flow Experiment (HFE) by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The National Park Service (NPS) is working with Reclamation to ensure people using the Colorado River in the canyons know a surge of water is on the way.The last time Reclamation conducted an HFE was in November 2018 and has been doing them sporadically since 1996. Lake Powell, much like Lake Mead, has seen its water level rise and subside over the years, but the last time it was full was the summer of 1983.
