AUSTIN (KXAN) — Going on a walk can serve a lot of different purposes. Some use walks for exercise, to take a break from life's stresses or just to have some time to themselves. When Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian takes his pregame walk around DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium before his team hosts Rice, his goal is to enjoy the moment.It's something he does before every game, and when he's leisurely making his way around, he's reflecting on all the work that gives him the opportunity to soak it all in. ST. LOUIS -- The Bommarito Audi Gateway Cup takes place this Labor Day weekend. It is four days of cycling, and racing, through four St. Louis neighborhoods. Each day there are races for amateur adults, kids, and pros.It began Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Tour De Lafayette. Saturday is the Tour De Francis Park. LOUIS -- It’s a Labor Day weekend tradition at the Missouri Botanical Garden, The Japanese Festival celebrates a long-standing and meaningful partnership. “We love working with the Missouri Botanical Garden. Is a great partnership. Committee, volunteers that work together, work with the garden. And we try to put on a great festival for the public here in St. Louis,” said Mike Kimzey of the Japan America Society of St. Louis, organizer of the event. The 46th annual Japanese Festival is set with the 14-acre Japanese Garden, the largest in North America, as its backdrop. It has a special history. “Japanese Americans that were released from the camps and embraced here in St. Louis,” Kimzey said. “There are performances, there are martial arts, dancing, and drumming. A 64-year-old man who was left coma after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Lincoln Heights last month has been identified. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. Aug. 14 while the victim was crossing at the intersection of Griffin Avenue and Avenue 31, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.Benjamin Howard Guy was struck by a vehicle described as being beige. 2 Fatally Struck in Two-Vehicle Collision near ThorndaleMILAM COUNTY, TX (September 1, 2023) – Sunday morning, Tyesha Nikole Tanner and a teen boy were killed in a 2-car accident on FM 486.The incident occurred around 10:40 a.m., just north of Thorndale.According to reports, a woman was driving a 2012 Kia Sorento south on FM-486.
