By Krystal Hur and Octavio Blanco | CNNGeneral Motors will lay off about 1,300 workers from two of its Michigan plants, according to WARN notices the company has filed with state regulators.The job cuts at GM’s Orion Assembly and Lansing Grand River Assembly, which will take place in the new year, come after the automaker said in October that it would be delaying electric pickup truck production into 2025.The layoffs at GM’s Orion plant will affect 945 employees, while 369 employees will be cut from the Lansing assembly plant.The Orion plant produced the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV crossover, and GM is planning to produce additional electric vehicles, namely the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV at the plant. Following two mediocre seasons on the field and at the box office, the San Francisco Giants are motivated to re-energize their fan base.One effort is apparently to spice up their annual preseason event, Fan Fest. The event — hosted in conjunction with KNBR-680, their flagship radio station — is no longer a one-day blowout at Oracle Park, but rather a four-city tour across the Bay Area to drum up excitement. (KRON) -- Crews are responding to a grass fire between Parkmoor Avenue and I-280 in San Jose on Thursday afternoon, the San Jose Fire Department said on X. Officials said the fire is approximately one acre, and forward progress (spreading of the fire) has been stopped.
