BOLOGNA, Italy (AP) — Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson scored the only goal of the game as Bologna beat Lazio 1-0 in the Italian league on Friday.Ferguson finished smartly a minute into the second half to halt Lazio’s three-game winning streak and lift Bologna into sixth place in Serie A, two points above Lazio in eighth.Ferguson’s goal was his 10th in the league since signing from Aberdeen in July last year and helped Bologna extend its fine run. The second of two workers trapped under a coal mine preparation plant that collapsed earlier this week in eastern Kentucky has died, Gov. Andy Beshear announced Friday. “This is a heartbreaking situation,” the Democratic governor wrote on social media, calling for prayers for the men’s loved ones. The two men — identified as Billy Ray Daniels and Alvin Nees — were trapped under rubble at the Martin Mine Prep Plant in Martin County after an 11-story abandoned building crashed down around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The men were on the scene completing work to prepare for its demolition. Daniels was originally located alive, but officials announced Wednesday that he died during rescue efforts. Crews worked around the clock for days digging through steel and concrete wreckage to find Nees, 57. A top D.C. official was arrested and charged with domestic assault this week.Chris Rodriguez, assistant city administrator and acting chief technology officer under Mayor Muriel Bowser, was arrested Wednesday and charged with simple assault domestic violence, according to a police report.The report states that police responded to Rodriguez’s Sedgwick Street apartment in Northwest at 11:30 p.m. after Rodriguez allegedly pushed his wife to the ground “with both hands.”The responding officer wrote in the report that Rodriguez’s daughter “overheard a verbal argument” between Rodriguez and his wife “but did not see any physical altercation between.”The report also states that Rodriguez’s wife “did not have any visible injuries.”Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Second District for further processing. DENVER (KDVR) — A student was injured Friday afternoon at George Washington High School, where police were investigating a stabbing.The Denver Police Department posted at 3:39 p.m. that officers were investigating a stabbing in the 600 block of South Monaco Street Parkway. SkyFOX flew over the scene and saw officers responding to the school, with crime scene tape outside the school in the parking lot. DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is back from the nation's capital, where he and other mayors urged the federal government to provide more help for the migrant crisis. The city reports that 51 migrants arrived in Denver just Friday. Since December, more than 26,000 have been served by the city, and almost 2,000 are in shelters. The state of Texas just announced it has bused 6,600 migrants to Denver since May 18. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Denver Animal Shelter has a new play yard for pups in their care to gallivant outside thanks to Hugo, a Havanese dog adopted from the Denver Animal Shelter. Hugo's owner donated $12,000 in honor of their rescue dog to fund the enclosure.To thank Hugo and his owner, the area will be known as Hugo's Yard.Letting dogs play can also help with adoption since it socializes them with other dogs and humans. Shelter staff will also be able to learn more about adoptable dogs in the play yard, gauging their behavior to best match them to potential homes.
