With the Hollywood writers strike over, actors will now get a shot at cutting their own deal with studios and streaming services. In a statement from SAG-AFTRA on Wednesday night, negotiators said meetings with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will resume on Monday, Oct. 2.This meeting would mark the first time negotiating sides have met since actors walked out on July 14, marking 76 days into the strike. The indication to resume talks comes on the heels of the Writers Guild of America striking a deal with major studio heads and streamers on Sept. 24 with the strike coming to an official end on Wednesday morning. The WGA deal marked the end of a 146-day strike that began on May 2. They might not be Cricket World Cup contenders or even make the semifinals, but Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh all have the potential to beat many of the top teams because of their skillful spin bowlers. The Asian heavyweights — host India and regional foe Pakistan — are the top two south Asian contenders for the semifinals, mainly because of experienced batters in their side. But both lack depth in their spin departments and could hardly match the spinners of at least Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, with Bangladesh not far behind.AFGHANISTANMercurial leg-spinner Rashid Khan leads Afghanistan’s strong spin trio that also include other impact spinners — Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi — while left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad could also prove to be a surprise package.Rashid’s experience of playing Indian Premier League should come in handy for Afghanistan and his wizardry on expected slow surfaces during the World Cup could turn the tables in Afghanistan’s favor.Mujeeb and ...Guardians give manager Terry Francona perfect send-off in his final home game, 4-3 win over Reds

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Donald Trump’s rivals laid into him repeatedly during the second presidential debate on Wednesday, ripping the former president for skipping the event as they sought to dent his commanding early lead in the Republican primary. “He should be on this stage tonight,” said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is attempting to establish himself as the leading Trump alternative despite recent struggles to break out from the rest of the back. “He owes it to you to defend his record where they added $7.8 trillion to the debt. That set the stage for the inflation we have now.”Seven GOP candidates squared off at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California for an event hosted by Fox Business Network. Trump was in Michigan, delivering a prime-time speech that continued through the start of the debate, attempting to capitalize on the Auto Workers Union strike and trying to appeal to rank-and-file union members in a key state that could help decide the general ...Rams putting plans together if left tackle Alaric Jackson can’t play at Colts

It was a struggle as the Rams gave up five sacks in the second half, with Thomas apparently at fault on at least two of those plays.“He came in and competed the best that h...Attorney for Suzanne Morphew's husband releases statement after her remains were found
