St. Louis man convicted in 2020 I-70 killing ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man was convicted Thursday for fatally shooting a man while the two were riding in the same car on Interstate 70.The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on May 15, 2020, on westbound I-70 near West Florissant Avenue.Brian Williams and Leonard Ward were riding in a vehicle driven by a friend, Edouard Claypool. Williams and Ward got into a verbal argument. At some point, Williams, who was in the backseat, produced a gun and shot Ward in the head three times.Ward died immediately. He was 53. Authorities respond to HazMat incident at L.A. City Hall Authorities with the Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles Police and LAPD's HazMat Units responded to L.A. City Hall Thursday after the discovery of a mysterious white powder.The calls came in just before 2 p.m. after the unknown substance was found in the first floor mail room.Two city hall workers were evaluated by paramedics and transported to a hospital for further evaluation as a precaution after opening a package containing the unknown substance. The workers didn’t show any signs or symptoms of illness, authorities said.Sky5 footage showed a large number of first responders at the scene.The mail room and a few nearby businesses were evacuated by LAPD personnel and the LAPD Bomb Squad was also on the scene assisting authorities.
