The weather is finally warming up, and Jovan C. Speller Rebollar is thinking about winter.Speller Rebollar started May 15 as the executive director of The Great Northern Festival, an annual celebration of winter with a focus on protecting our cold season amid a rapidly changing climate.She’ll co-lead the festival with Kate Nordstrum, who has been the festival’s director since 2019 and will continue as chief programming officer. The organization’s longtime plan has been to split the top job in two once the festival grew enough — a leadership structure they’re hoping will allow Speller Rebollar to oversee internal nonprofit administration and development while Nordstrum devotes her full attention toward curating the festival.The 2024 festival will take place from Jan. 24 to Feb. 4. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady man has been arraigned in connection with a drug-related death. The indictment alleges Sangster sold fentanyl on November 7, 2022 near 10th Avenue in Watervliet, which caused the death of another person. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 14 year old from Albany was arrested in connection to the swatting occurrence that happened at Crossgates Mall on May 19. On May 19 at 12:34 p.m., the Guilderland Police Department responded to a call for a shooting at Crossgates Mall in the Macy's parking lot. The caller reported that there were two people shot, and that the suspect fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. This information was quickly determined to be false. Grocery shoppers continued to feel a slight reprieve in April as grocery prices fell month-over-month for the second consecutive month, after a run of increases spanning back to September 2020.The decline was moderate, at about 0.2% since March, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Video captured the terrifying moment a mob of bicyclists attacked a man in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.The victim was knocked to the ground, kicked and stomped on by a group of young men in broad daylight near Hill and 6th Streets around 4 p.m.The attack took place in the jewelry district where the witness who captured the video said he was working on the 13th floor of an office building when he heard a loud commotion outside.When he looked down onto the street, that’s when he spotted the violent altercation.As the victim was being kicked and beaten, one of the suspects can be seen bashing the victim’s truck windshield with his bike handle.“It was horrible,” said the witness, identified only as Gary. “When I got to the window, I saw probably about six or seven kids on bicycles. Four men have been hospitalized, with at least two in critical condition, after being shot near downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning. Just after 2 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the 1000 block of Ingraham Street outside the 1010 Wilshire Apartments in the Westlake neighborhood.When authorities arrived on scene, they found four men suffering gunshot wounds. Detectives say there was an altercation between two groups of men who knew each other. At least one male suspect shot multiple rounds and then fled the scene in a white BMW with at least two other men. Man shot in the face at Newport Pier The suspects are still at large and no arrests have been made. The four victims were transported to a nearby hospital. Two of the men are in stable condition, while the other two are in critical condition. It is unclear what led to the altercation. A Southern California bride is desperately seeking the public’s help in finding her missing wedding dress. Rebecca Nguyen of Mission Viejo is on the hunt for her wedding dress after a family member accidentally donated it to Goodwill. Nguyen got married in 2017 and she left her wedding dress at her parents’ house to keep it safe. Her parents later divorced, and in the process of them moving, her wedding dress was accidentally donated to Goodwill in Brea. In a Facebook post that has been shared over 2,000 times, Nguyen shared her story and pleaded for the public’s help in finding her dress. "If you have it, please consider selling it back to me," Nguyen wrote. "I will pay more than you paid for it. You can even wear it for your wedding!
