BERLIN — Germans want to save the climate. They’re just reluctant to take the potentially painful steps this would require.A growing backlash over climate-friendly policies is now hitting the German Greens, putting wobbles into the country’s three-party ruling coalition. Not only has Germany been causing a ruckus at the EU level in recent weeks by mounting a last-minute blockade to a proposed ban on combustion engines, but the country is also facing a domestic political fight over phasing out gas and oil heating systems, as well as pushing forward the coal exit. All those disputes are linked to fundamental disagreements between the Greens and their two coalition partners, Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the Free Democratic Party (FDP), over how the EU’s climate-protection targets should be implemented and what consequences and costs this will have for industry and citizens. (CNN) — Fans who are missing McDonald’s “Snack Wraps” can soon get their fix at a rival.Beginning Monday, in a move that could attract customers clamoring for the return of the fan-favorite food, Wendy’s is adding a new grilled chicken ranch wrap to its menu. For $6.29, Wendy’s said customers will get diced grilled chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce and ranch sauce in a warm tortilla wrap.Wendy’s wrap is slightly different from McDonald’s version, because the chain “didn’t want to mess around with a McBland snack wrap dupe,” said Carl Loredo, Wendy’s chief marketing officer. He told CNN that grilled chicken is used in place of crispy chicken that was in McDonald’s wrap, because he said Wendy’s fans are looking for “lighter and more portable menu items.”The new menu item is also a heartier version of the spicy chicken “Go Wrap” that Wendy’s discon...Coinbase tumbles ahead of the bell after SEC warning

By MICHELLE CHAPMAN (AP Business Writer)Shares of Coinbase tumbled 16% at the opening bell Thursday after the cryptocurrency trading platform received a warning from the Securities and Exchange Commission that it could face securities charges. The cryptocurrency trading platform said in an SEC filing late Wednesday that it had received a Wells Notice from the agency, which indicates that regulators believe laws protecting investors were violated. Among the practices being targeted by the SEC is “staking,” which is “Coinbase Earn” by the company. Users of trading platforms can stake their cryptocurrency, essentially locking up some of their assets, in exchange for payment later, much like earning interest rates in a savings account. Those assets are used by platforms like Coinbase Global Inc. to guarantee other transactions taking place on the blockchain. The SEC says Coinbase and other platforms must register as a securities platform to offer such services, an...Stocks open higher as some calm returns to Wall Street
