One of the five bystanders erroneously shot by a Denver police officer as bars let out in Lower Downtown last year filed a lawsuit against the officer this week.Angelica Rey was among the bystanders shot by Officer Brandon Ramos on July 17 near Larimer and 20th streets. The officer, who was suspended after the shooting and is facing criminal charges, was aiming at a man with a gun but missed and hit the bystanders on a crowded street. Five were shot and one additional bystander was injured, police have said.Rey, who was 23 at the time and out celebrating a promotion at work, was shot in the leg. Another atmospheric river is heading toward California, preparing to dump heavy rain and snow over the state.While rain was already falling in parts of California on Wednesday, the main event is expected to start Thursday, National Weather Service forecasters say. The heaviest rain will likely fall Thursday night into Friday, when activity will peak, but precipitation is expected to continue through the weekend. One Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Accident on Ray RoadMESA, AZ (March 8, 2023) – Friday afternoon, one rider was pronounced dead after a motorcycle crash on Sossaman Road.Dispatchers responded to the scene at the intersection of Ray and Sossaman Road on February 17th near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.Per reports, the driver of a truck attempted to turn left onto southbound Sossaman Road and struck the motorcyclist. Upon impact, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road, causing head trauma.Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
