SAN JOSE — A big and empty San Jose office building that has tumbled into neglect — including a defunct fire alarm system — faces receivership and a loan foreclosure as the Bay Area’s commercial property woes worsen.The office building, located at 3100 North First Street, is in default on its loan and could be seized by its lender, according to documents filed on Jan. 4 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office.The default problems that confront the building, which totals 99,400 square feet, provide fresh evidence that financial woes continue to jolt the Bay Area office market in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.Santa Monica-based Vista Investment Group owns the building, which at one point was leased to Nio USA, a unit of a China-based maker of electric vehicles. (KRON) – An Antioch resident was arrested after a traffic stop for possession of fentanyl and a gun, the Pacifica Police Department announced Thursday. Around 9 p.m. on Dec. 29, a Pacifica officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for reportedly “several vehicle code violations.” Suspected Highway 1 road rage driver who shot child identified The driver was identified as 31-year-old Antioch resident Patrick Lefao. According to the police investigation, Lefao was found to have several outstanding arrest warrants and a suspended driver’s license. A 1-year-old child is in critical condition after nearly drowning at a home, Miami Fire Rescue said. Miami Fire Rescue and Miami Police arrived at the scene at 62nd Street and North Miami Avenue, Friday afternoon. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene, where police cruisers surrounded the area. Yellow tape was also placed at the scene by officers as they continue to investigate. It is unclear if the child was transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported. Police are on the search for two suspects accused of stealing an elderly woman’s purse while at a South Florida restaurant, and the act was captured on surveillance video. The incident happened days before Christmas at Casa Cuba Restaurant, located at 5859 SW 73rd St. The restaurant’s surveillance video showed the two men walking into the restaurant and then sitting at the bar as they looked for a potential victim, police said. “The individuals sat at the bar first, they started looking around for victims,” South Miami Police Sgt. Fernando Bosh said.Moments later, they found their mark. The elderly woman was seen walking into the eatery with her friends or family. (WSVN) — A 31-year-old Florida man allegedly drove across several states to pick up a 16-year-old girl in Lima, Ohio who he met online through video game “World of Warcraft.” Luckily, police stepped in before it was too late.According to an arrest report, Thomas Ebersole drove roughly 14 hours and nearly 1,000 miles to pick up the 16-year-old in Central Ohio. Investigators say Ebersole met the girl online while playing “World of Warcraft.” From there they developed a relationship.“Then through the course of their online relationship, decided that it was a good idea for him to come up and meet her in Ohio. It was a big, warm welcome for a South Florida high school marching band after putting on a stellar performance in London’s New Year’s Day Parade.
