Rebecca Hall, Queen’s University, OntarioSome universities have removed course information from public websites as part of efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, following the stabbing attack this past summer on June 28 at the University of Waterloo.Police recently added an additional charge of attempted murder to previous charges faced by a man accused of entering a classroom and stabbing three people in a gender studies class. DENVER (KDVR) — It's starting to look like winter on top of some Colorado peaks. Longs PeakLongs Peak, which sits at 14,259 feet, recorded snow just before 7 a.m. Monday. Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Chris Tomer said this was the peak's first snow of the season.The first snow of the season has fallen on Longs Peak on Sept. 11, 2023. (National Park Service)Temperatures on the peak reached 38 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and light winds. DENVER (KDVR) — Commerce City Police evacuated businesses while they investigate a car that was allegedly rigged to explode.At 11:11 a.m. Monday, Commerce City Police Department said officers are in the area of East 49th Avenue. The area is west of a large truck stop.Police said a suspect is in custody after claiming the car he was in was rigged to explode. Nearby businesses were evacuated. Police later said no bombs were found in the vehicle. DENVER (KDVR) -- Ten years ago, on Sept. 11, 2013, the Front Range experienced one of Colorado's worst floods that covered 4,500 square miles -- more than ten times the size of Rocky Mountain National Park.The rain started on Sept. 9 after a week of hot weather, just like September's forecast this year. The heaviest rain began the evening of Sept. 11 and lasted for 30 hours. (CNN) — The US Food and Drug Administration on Monday gave the green light to updated Covid-19 vaccine booster shots from Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech. The updated vaccines are each approved for people 12 and older and are authorized under emergency use for individuals 6 months through 11 years old. As part of the FDA’s update, the original bivalent Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use in the United States.“Vaccination remains critical to public health and continued protection against serious consequences of COVID-19, including hospitalization and death,” Dr. Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said in a news release Monday. “The public can be assured that these updated vaccines have met the agency’s rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality.
