Third teen charged in connection to online threats against Mississauga school

A third teen has now been charged in connection to alleged online threats against Mississauga and Brampton schools earlier in the week. Peel police were called to Lincoln Alexander Secondary School in Mississauga around 8:45 a.m. on March 9 to investigate an online threat.Investigators have arrested and charged a 16-year-old girl from Mississauga with one count of uttering threats.On Saturday, police said they had also charged a 15-year-old boy from Mississauga with uttering threats and mischief to property. Both teens have been released with conditions and are expected to appear in court in Brampton at a later date.Neither can be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police previously arrested a 14-year-old boy for a separate unrelated online threat made against Chinguacousy Secondary School in Brampton. ISTANBUL (AP) — The head of Turkey’s disaster and emergency management agency has raised the country’s death toll from a magnitude 7.8 earthquake last month to 47,975. Yunus Sezer said during a news conference on Saturday that the people who died included 6,278 foreigners, with Syrian nationals accounting for the largest share. The Feb. 6 quake affected 11 Turkish provinces and parts of neighboring Syria. The United Nations has estimated Syria’s death toll at 6,000.The quake was followed by a magnitude 7.5 temblor hours later, as well as thousands of aftershocks. CHICAGO — Two men were injured in a shooting that took place in the city's Loop Saturday morning. According to police, the shooting took place near the 0-100 block of North Dearborn Street just before 9 a.m. CPD officer injured in incident over gun in Lincoln Park Police say a 58-year-old man sustained a graze wound to his left arm and a 34-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg. CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — A man was crushed to death while attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a local business, according to officials in Georgia.On Tuesday, Mar. 7, officers with the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) were called to Prestige Auto Sales around 9:15 a.m. after a deceased man was found under a vehicle in the car lot. Police say evidence at the scene indicates that the man was killed while he was illegally removing a catalytic converter from the vehicle, and the vehicle fell on top of him. ST. LOUIS — A portion of St. Louis County is under a cautionary boil advisory after a 20 inch water main break. Missouri American water says about 3,600 customers are affected. Missouri American water says this is just a precautionary measure. “Water is okay to use without boiling for non-consumable use such as washing clothes and bathing. Customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted which should be approximately 48 hours from now,” statement from Missouri American Water. The water main break has closed a portion of Gravois Road near Musick Road.
