A private security guard responding to an alarm at a home in Encino on New Year’s Eve shot the 88-year-old homeowner, sending her to a hospital where she was recovering this week, police said.The 34-year-old guard employed with ACS Security arrived at the home in the 5200 block of Encino Avenue at around 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31 after an alarm had been tripped there, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the guard’s attorney.The guard saw someone inside the home and fired once, hitting the elderly woman, LAPD said. Miami-Dade Police arrested a man who appeared to be intoxicated and engaged in disruptive behavior at Miami International Airport on Wednesday night. According to police, a supervisor of a TGI Fridays inside the airport called authorities to report a fight involving five people just before 8 p.m. Lee Edwards, identified as one of the passengers involved in the brawl, was allegedly yelling racial slurs at the manager and accused her of cutting his finger. said a police report.
