LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Fort William Henry spends every summer welcoming Lake George visitors to enjoy a slice of local history. On Sunday, it's the local community that gets a turn at the Community Day at Fort William Henry.From 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, visitors to Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center can enjoy BBQ food, live music by DJ Suzie Q and Fran, kids games, and tours of Fort William Henry's fort and museum. The community day has changed in form a fair amount over the years, but the core mission is unchanged.“It started as a clambake when I was a kid,” says Fort William Henry Corp. EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- East Greenbush Schools are expanding their preschool classes and student support services. The additions to those programs are funded by foundation aid from the 2024 state budget. That funding also supports intervention services for students in third grade and below who need additional academic help. Jeffrey Simons, Superintendent, said the increased focus on early childhood education is improving academics and student behavior. ST. LOUIS - One person is dead, and two juveniles are hurt after a series of shootings overnight in the city of St. Louis. Two others were also shot in the violence.At this point, police have told FOX 2 that nobody is in custody in connection with any of the shootings. The police also shared that they don't believe any of the shootings are connected, even though three of them happened within about a half hour of each other and two of the scenes were only a block apart.Police got the first call just after 9:45 p.m. They rushed to a scene on Minerva in north St. Louis which turned out to be a homicide.We're told when officers arrived, they found a teen shot outside. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A Brentwood man is behind bars after he allegedly attempted to break into the building of a train collectors' club and steal a toy train.Prosecutors have charged Travis Akins, 22, with second-degree attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and property damage in the investigation.
