ATLANTA (AP) — Police have apprehended a man who allegedly opened fire inside the waiting room of an Atlanta medical practice, killing one woman and wounding four others Wednesday.Authorities had swarmed the city’s bustling midtown neighborhood shortly after noon in search of the suspect, who fled after the shooting. Police said in a statement that the gunman, who they identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson, was captured Wednesday evening in Cobb County, just northwest of Atlanta.Authorities said Patterson shot five women on the 11th floor of a Northside Medical building. Five lawsuits were filed in Larimer County District Court on Wednesday. According to detectives, Melchor Garcia was last seen leaving the area of Northeast 166th Street and West Dixie Highway, Wednesday night. Rescue crews took at least four people, including a child, to the hospital after they were injured in a crash in Southwest Miami-Dade.Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue units have responded to the scene of the two-vehicle crash in the area of Southwest 99th Avenue and 56th Street, just after 8:45 p.m., Wednesday.7News cameras captured a mangled minivan and a Corvette at the scene, as paramedics treated injured victims on stretchers.Paramedics transported four or five victims to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in unknown conditions.
