AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Morning low temperatures Sunday fell to mostly the low to mid 40s in the Hill Country to the mid 40s to low 50s for the rest of the area. Camp Mabry's low of 53° is a degree shy of normal. The low at Austin-Bergstrom was 45°.The Gulf flow returned clouds to the area sooner than expected. As a result, the eastern half of the area will be mostly cloudy to overcast this afternoon. Clouds will increase in our western counties. A teenager was shot to death outside an Aurora mall on Saturday night, Aurora police said.The shooting happened at the Town Center at Aurora in a parking lot outside of the Dillard’s department store at about 8 p.m., according to a police news release. Drier and warmer weather is in the forecast for Monday into Tuesday, but another round of rain is expected to hit the area by midweek. A wind advisory is in effect for northern Ventura County and the western San Gabriel Mountains, but the advisory is scheduled to expire at 9 a.m. Sunday morning. According to the National Weather Service, gusty winds are possible across Southern California through Monday, but the sun will shine Sunday into Tuesday, with clouds and rain moving in by early Wednesday morning. “[The rain] can be heavy at times,” said KTLA meteorologist Kacey Montoya. “There’s a possibility of seeing some thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday as this next system passes.” Snow may fall as low as 2,500 feet on Wednesday, which could affect travel through the Grapevine and other higher elevated roads. Two teens were arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting over 40 rounds at a busy shopping mall in Palm Desert.The suspects were identified as Allen Adams, 19, and Alexander Alvarado, 19, by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Both are Adelanto residents.On Feb. 2, deputies responded to reports of shots fired at The Shops at Palm Desert around 2 p.m.When authorities arrived, they determined a shooting took place in the mall’s parking lot. Investigators said the incident was a “car-to-car, gang-related shooting with over 40 rounds fired.”No injuries were reported after the shooting, but the suspects fled the scene after the incident.Authorities later identified the suspects and tracked them down at a residence in the 11100 block of Hyattsville Street. MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) -- The closure of of US-101 from Petaluma to Novato for crews to complete work in the area has been extended until Sunday afternoon, according to CalTrans. Vehicle takes a dive off San Mateo Bridge US-101 southbound will be closed from State Route 116 (Lakeville Highway) in Petaluma to Atherton Road in Novato from 9 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday, CalTrans said. The closure is providing PG&E and the County of Marin extra space as they deal with a landslide that occurred in the area on March 21.
