Washington is only 2-8 in the matchup on Thanksgiving, but won the last meeting, 41-16, in 2020.Washington’s only true prime-time game comes in Week 5 when the Chicago Bears come to FedEx Field on a Thursday night, Oct. 5. A former D.C. police lieutenant is now indicted on a second-degree murder charge after he said he shot a trainee accidentally with his revolver.Retired D.C. police Lieutenant Jesse Porter Jr. shot Maurica Manyan in the chest on Aug. 4 and she later died, court documents said. Porter conducted the training as a private contractor.It happened after a training exercise for library police officers that the 25-year-old mother attended.After the exercise at the Anacostia Library, Porter’s training group was posing for a photo when Manyan interrupted them to fix her hair and face mask, the documents said. Instead, five employees at a King Soopers grocery store in Greenwood Village were terminated for holding a shoplifting suspect and calling the police.It's been more than six months since the employees were fired, and they still haven't received an arbitration date to hear their appeals."I think it is a travesty of justice, quite frankly," said Greg McArthur, one of the five King Soopers employees. Police are investigating a shooting and a fire at a home in Fort Lauderdale involving a barricaded subject.Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Rescue units responded to a home in the area of Northwest 27th Terrace and 18th Court, just before 8:25 p.m., Thursday.Police said they responded in reference to a shooting, but upon arrival, the armed subject barricaded himself inside the residence and is believed to have set it on fire.SWAT negotiators have also arrived at the scene and continue to speak to the subject in the hopes of reaching a peaceful resolution.Firefighters have put out the flames, but the investigation is expected to go late into the night.Detectives have not provided further details about the incident, as they continue to investigate.Please check back on WSVN.com and 7News for more details on this developing story.Knife, airsoft guns found inside students’ backpacks at 3 Broward schools
