DENVER (KDVR) -- The defense for Nathan Woodyard, an Aurora Police officer on trial for the 2019 death of Elijah McClain, rested their case Thursday.The trial began on Oct. 17. Woodyard took the stand Wednesday, and closing arguments are scheduled to take place in court Friday morning. An investigation into a Colorado coal train derailment and bridge collapse that killed a truck driver is focused on whether inspection and maintenance practices at BNSF Railway contributed to the accident, federal officials said Thursday.The steel bridge built in 1958 collapsed onto Interstate 25 Oct 15, when a broken rail caused 30 cars from a BNSF Railway train hauling coal to derail, the National Transportation Safety Board said based on preliminary findings. DENVER (KDVR) -- Jefferson County Public Schools announced that there were "alarming" emails received Tuesday by staff members.According to the district's statement, the Information Technology team is working with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement to investigate the credibility and scope of an attack. Detectives from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit arrested a Fort Lauderdale man in connection with an aggravated assault case.The arrest followed the release of surveillance video that shows an altercation involving Dwayne Fye, 59, at a Broward County business. The incident occurred on Sunday, Sept. 3, around 12:50 a.m., near the 2700 block of West Sunrise Boulevard.In the video, a subject, later identified as Fye, was seen wearing a green baseball hat, green shirt and black shorts.
