ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady man was arrested on Monday after police say they saw him walking with what appeared to be a loaded handgun in his pocket. On Monday, around 5 p.m., police say an Albany detective saw a man walking on South Pearl Street near Morton Avenue and saw what appeared to be a handgun in his pocket. When they approached him near the intersection, police say he was in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. ST. LOUIS - One person is dead and another is hurt after two overnight shootings in the city of St. Louis.The victims in both shootings were adult males. The crimes happening only two miles apart and within a couple of hours of each other. Wednesday morning, investigators are sharing that there does not appear to be any connection between the cases.This happened on Thomas Street in north St. Louis, not far from Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Police are calling it a homicide. They told FOX 2 officers rushed to that area for shot's fired call just after 1:00 a.m.Upon arrival, they found a man shot outside. He was not conscious or breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene. COLLINSVILLE, Ill. - A stretch of Interstate 55 in central Illinois is back open Wednesday morning after closing again due to dusty conditions Tuesday afternoon.Illinois State Police said they discovered another person died in that massive vehicle pile up on I-55. It's about 75 miles northeast of St. Louis. This brings the total number of lives lost from six to seven.A windstorm kicked up clouds of blinding dust from farm fields Monday morning, causing a series of crashes along I-55 in Montgomery County. The highway was closed in both directions overnight Monday, so crews could clear the road and investigate.It reopened around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, but then state police had to close a 20-mile stretch of I-55 again Tuesday because of similar conditions.FOX 2 also learned of that seventh victim Tuesday.Investigators explained that because of the severity of the damage, what they first believed were the remains of one person in a car, were actually two. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A shooting Tuesday night in north St. Louis County killed one person and injured two.It happened around 9:30 a.m. at a house on Halls Ferry Road at ibis Court. When police arrived, they found a woman outside suffering from a gunshot wound. She later died from her injuries. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A congresswoman from St. Louis is out of jail Wednesday morning after Jefferson City police arrested her for outstanding warrants.FOX 2's partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that police stopped Missouri State Representative Lakeysha Bosley Monday night for allegedly speeding in Jefferson City. Police arrested her when they realized she was wanted in several counties for failing to appear in court for traffic violations.
