Search on for ‘missing child’ at South Boston’s Castle Island First responders have rushed to Castle Island to help search for a missing child, state police report tonight.A dive team has also been called along with Boston police and fire, the State Police Air Wing and Boston EMS. The State Police Marine Unit is also on-scene.They are “searching Castle Island … and in the surrounding ocean,” MSP said.The missing child is said to be 4 years old, but that is unofficial at this point.UPDATE: The State Police are now saying the missing child is a 4-year-old boy from South Boston.Castle Island is a peninsula in South Boston that’s right on the Harbor. (AP) — A horse died Sunday after a race at Churchill Downs, making it the eighth fatality in recent weeks at the home of the Kentucky Derby.Rio Moon “suffered a catastrophic injury to his left foreleg a few strides after the wire,” according to notes in the Equibase chart for the sixth race.The 3-year-old colt ridden by Martin Garcia was euthanized, the chart said. Rio Moon was trained by Dale Romans and was winless in six career starts with earnings of $11,621.Two horses were euthanized after being injured in races on the Kentucky Derby undercard on May 6. LOUIS - A heavy downpour dumped anywhere between 3 and 6 inches of rain Sunday afternoon on parts of the St. Louis metropolitan area.Earlier in the afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of the FOX 2 viewing area (in Missouri and Illinois) through 10 p.m.A lot of rain in a short amount of time flooded select areas on the interstates around town, leading to traffic delays and diversions. I-55 was temporarily closed at Reavis Barracks due to standing water, and eastbound I-64 was again closed off between Hampton and Skinker.
