How a switch to El Niño could affect hurricane season AUSTIN (KXAN) — As you may have heard by now, La Niña has met its end and we're currently in the Neutral phase of the climate pattern El-Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO). La Niña has ended: Here's what's next and when El Niño could begin While we're expected to stay neutral through at least spring and possibly a good chunk of summer, a switch to El Niño is expected from late summer into fall. Now, Atlantic Hurricane season begins June 1 and lasts all the way through Nov. 30. Ecolab to invest $2 million to create green space in downtown St. Paul Global water treatment and technology company Ecolab and the city of St. Paul announced a partnership Saturday to initiate a $2 million project to convert a downtown sidewalk and concrete plaza into a community green space.At the St. Paul-based company’s 100th anniversary celebration at Rice Park, Ecolab Chairman and CEO Christophe Beck and Mayor Melvin Carter announced plans for the beautification of a 26,000-plus-square-foot area located between Ecolab Global Headquarters, the Landmark Center and the historic Hamm Building. The metro has measured more than 80 inches since October.And NWS meteorologist Melissa Dye said more could be on the way. (NEWS10) -- A Richmondville man was arrested on Wednesday following a domestic incident and was found to have controlled substances, including cocaine, according to police. The NWS says minor flooding is expected, including flooding of highways, streets and underpasses.
