AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — At the close of a disastrous season where the club didn’t make the playoffs, Austin FC Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell insists he is laying the groundwork for long-term success. That includes keeping embattled coach Josh Wolff and creating a new scouting department to build talent pipelines from Europe and South America.Borrell said Tuesday he and the club remain committed to Wolff, a former United States men’s national team player. Wolff has been the team’s only coach since the franchise played its first match in 2021.“I understand we are in a world where results matter, and matter a lot, but I have a responsibility beyond results,” Borrell said. “(Wolff) is very dedicated, very knowledgeable, and very much committed to the city and to the club. Believe me, I come from some of the best clubs in the world, so I know what I’m talking about when referring to coaches.”Borrell came to Austin after nine seasons at Manchester City, where he was the Premier Leag...‘Warrior:’ Commanders produce video documenting comeback of Brian Robinson, Jr.

The Washington Commanders have produced and released a documentary-style video on the life and rehabilitation of running back Brian Robinson Jr., who returned to playing weeks after being shot twice in the leg in August 2022.Titled “Warrior,” the film includes interviews with Robinson, family members, high school and college coaches, Commanders teammates and head coach Ron Rivera.Robinson recalled the evening he was shot, by two teenage suspects, who have been arrested and charged as adults.“I stayed up — I stayed up that whole night,” he said in the film. “Waiting on the doctor to come and tell me, whatever the good or bad news was.”He remembers being relieved by the news he received: “At least I’ll be able to walk again, at least I’ll be able to run again.”The film portrays Robinson’s determination to rehabilitate himself, beginning with a return — on crutches — to the team’s practice facility. NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are rising Tuesday as pressure relaxes on Wall Street from the bond market. The S&P 500 was 0.5% higher in late trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 125 points, or 0.4%, as of 3 p.m. Eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was 0.7% higher. Some of the strongest action was in the bond market, where Treasury yields eased after trading resumed following a holiday on Monday. It was the first opportunity for yields to move since the weekend’s surprise attack by Hamas on Israel injected caution into global markets.Perhaps more impactfully, it was also the first trading for Treasurys since Federal Reserve officials gave speeches that traders took as a suggestion the Fed may not raise its main interest rate again. The comments helped U.S. stocks swing from early losses to gains on Monday. The yield on the 10-year Treasury fell to 4.66% from 4.80% late Friday, which is a considerable move for the bond market. The two-year Treasury yield, which moves mo...Secretary of State Blinken to travel to Israel in display of US solidarity after Hamas attacks
