Israel was struck by a surprise attack by Hamas early Saturday morning in one of the most serious escalations in years between Israel and the Islamist militant group. Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton is not accepting incoming patients while emergency crews deal with “emergency issues” impacting the hospital, local officials said Saturday morning. The Brockton Emergency Management Agency in a statement said leadership and staff were on scene as of around 11 a.m. working with Good Samaritan’s emergency response team. ISLAMABAD (AP) — Two 6.3 magnitude earthquakes killed dozens of people in western Afghanistan on Saturday, the country’s national disaster authority said.The United Nations gave a preliminary figure of 320 dead, but later said the figure was still being verified.
