Forever stamps, First-Class Mail could become more expensive this summer: Here's why

(NEXSTAR) – In January, sending a piece of mail became more expensive than ever after the United States Postal Service enacted its third price hike in roughly a year. Now, USPS is asking for yet another price hike to offset inflation. On Monday, USPS filed a notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission asking for price changes across multiple services, including First-Class Mail Forever stamps. If the proposed increases are approved, prices for First-Class Mail would rise about 5.4% "to offset the rise in inflation," the federal agency said. That includes a 3-cent increase on Forever stamps, which would push them to 66 cents. USPS raised the cost of Forever stamps in January from 60 cents to 63 cents. Does your state allow teachers to carry a gun? Forever stamps, regardless of when they are purchased, are accepted in perpetuity, hence the name. That means if you have some already — even if you bought them at a lower price — the stamps are still accepted to mail letters. In addition ...Q&A: UT lecturer shares how students are preparing for art careers with AI

The offense — or lack there of — was a contributing culprit in Minnesota United’s defense allowing two first-half goals in a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Fire on Saturday.Moments before Kei Kamara opened up the scoring in the 24th minute, Loons striker Luis Amarilla’s poor touch led to a turnover in the middle of the field and the Fire striker capitalized with a goal on his former team. Before Kamara scored his second goal in the 35th minute, Robin Lod’s errant pass in the center circle gave the ball back to Chicago. The Fire then put together 17 consecutive passes — an indicting number on its own — to set up Arnaud Souquet’s assist to Kamara’s header goal.Loons manager Adrian Heath told his players Tuesday morning why he thought their five-match unbeaten start to the season came to an end. “I thought we didn’t compete enough,” he said. “(We) were second in every phase of the game, whether that was with the ball or without the ball, transition.”Minnesota (3-1-2) gave up two goals in...Where to bike around Lake George, Glens Falls
